Meet the 2024 SLP Day speakers! Allison Croxton is a research SLP at the Center for the Study of Aphasia Recovery at the University of South Carolina and 莱斯利·辛普森 is an accomplished lawyer and stroke survivor. 阿什利Brigman is an SLP and the owner of Busy Bee Therapy and 玛利亚泰勒 is a successful working mother and the parent of a child who receives SLP services. Allison and Ashley will speak about their SLP academic and career journeys and the joys of helping people communicate. Leslie and Moriah will share firsthand experiences of the impact SLPs have on the lives of the individuals they serve. You can read more about each of our amazing speakers below.
Allison Croxton, m.s.S.P., CCC-SLP
Allison Croxton is a research associate for the Center for the Study for Aphasia Recovery (C-STAR) at the University of South Carolina. 她以B的成绩毕业.A. in English from Wofford College in 1998, and a Master of Speech Pathology (M.S.P.) from the University of South Carolina in 2000. She is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist whose current focus is investigating the relationship between language impairment and response to treatment with patients with chronic aphasia, to better predict aphasia treatment outcomes.
莱斯利米. 辛普森 is a stroke survivor and accomplished lawyer in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Claflin University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and received a Juris Doctor in 2014 from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Leslie works daily with members of the South Carolina General Assembly, 利益相关者, and other official bodies for the passage of legislation that promotes the interests of all the 46 counties in the state of South Carolina by serving as a governmental liaison for all counties. Leslie is responsible for policy development and drafts legislation and amendments to legislation that impacts each county in South Carolina. She also serves as a mentor to law students and pre-law students.
阿什利·布里格曼，m.s.C.D., CCC-SLP is the owner of Busy Bee Therapy, LLC. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech, 语言, 听力协会, and is a licensed South Carolina SLP. She is also a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) through the 国际 Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) and is a member of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Ashley is a 哥伦比亚大学 alumna and received her master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Carolina. She specializes in child language, autism, and AAC.
玛利亚泰勒, is a proud mom to the most adorable little boy, Brayden Taylor. Alongside being a Teller Supervisor at First Citizens Bank, she is currently pursuing a master's degree at Ball State University in Applied Behavioral Analysis. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Lander University. 在她休息的时候, you can find her soaking up quality moments with loved ones, 参加教堂, and actively participating in community service events with her sorority.
